At HQ, LLC, we offer three insulation options to ensure your shed is protected from the elements.

For an affordable choice, we have traditional batting insulation with an R-Factor of 15. We recommend using batting on the walls and ceiling but not on the floor. As an alternative for floor insulation at a lower cost, we offer a new product called Astro Armour.

Astro Armour is a reflective insulation product that consists of high-density polyethylene foam sandwiched between white woven polyethylene scrim with UV and thermal inhibitors on one side, and reflective metalized film on the other side. This unique construction prevents radiant heat from entering the shed and helps retain heat during colder temperatures. Astro Armour provides an R-Factor of 14.7 for roofs, 6.1 for floors, and 8.0 for walls. However, Astro Armour is also a suitable choice for walls and ceilings if preferred.

Our third insulation option is spray foam. Our spray foam consists of one-inch closed-cell insulation. If you plan to finish out your shed or cabin, we highly recommend having the floor spray-foamed. Spray foam insulation is slightly more expensive but offers consistent and reliable protection.

Proper insulation is essential for maintaining comfortable temperatures inside your building and can result in long-term cost savings. While it does involve additional expense, investing in proper insulation can provide years of enjoyment and future savings.
